Grow U.K.
Grow is here to help people aged 16 -24 to take positive steps forward towards securing a job or getting into training.
From the grow.uk website
We know it’s easy to feel stuck. Life isn’t always plain sailing. Grow is here to help people aged 16 -24 to take positive steps forward towards securing a job or getting into training.
When thinking about getting a job, writing CVs and applying for jobs can be hard. Sometimes it’s tricky knowing where to start. Our Grow Programme can support you through that process. We can also support you in developing tools and skills that are going to help you succeed – whether in work, at college or on an apprenticeship.
All of our programmes are based in nature. We do this because we believe it’s not only good for the soul but it's also a good way to develop transferable skills.
The Grow programme
We use a therapeutic coaching approach that focuses on the soft skills that are a key ingredient to thriving in life and at work, such as working well with others, handling conflict and managing personal motivation.
Many of the young people we work with have experienced a lack of self-confidence and have little or no experience of work.
The programme has been developed to build confidence in each young person. We start gently and cover the basics and then each week we build on the previous weeks sessions to extend and stretch the young person’s comfort zone!
The details
Grow runs for 5 weeks. The sessions run on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons 1pm-3.30pm.
The sessions are a mixture of group coaching, 1:1s and therapeutic work experience at a community farm.
Our sessions are currently based at: Grow, 389 Manor Ln, Sheffield S2 1UL

SAGE
SAGE helps promote wellbeing by providing meaningful activities in a welcoming environment. They like to find out what their members enjoy, and offer support and encouragement where needed.
On the allotment they have raised beds and accessible paths for easier access. The allotment groups conclude with a cooked lunch using home grown produce.
SAGE members will meet new friends and find a welcoming community, give and receive support, and find respite from life’s problems.
Here are some of the groups they run...
Greenfingers
Learn new skills whilst enjoying the outdoors in our therapeutic, horticultural group: Greenfingers. They also offer healthy meals and art activities - as well as the chance to talk to volunteers and other members.
Singing Through the Seasons
Feel uplifted whilst you sing away the blues. In this safe space our members have the opportunity to learn simple songs and socialise during our break.
Plot 66
Plot 66 is our follow-up group from Greenfingers, for members who wish to remain part of the SAGE community and have found a love of gardening whilst working on the allotment.
