Baby Basics
Baby Basics is a volunteer-led project aiming to support new mothers and families who are struggling to meet the financial and practical burden of looking after a new baby. Baby Basics started in Sheffield in the spring of 2009, this centre continues to support families across Sheffield working with a wide range of frontline health and social care professionals. There is an ever increasing network of Baby Basics centres across the country each staffed by a committed team of volunteers
Baby Basics provides much needed essentials and equipment to mothers and families who are unable to provide these items for themselves; including but not limited to teenage mums, people seeking asylum and women fleeing domestic abuse and trafficking.
They support children up to the age of 5
You will need a referral from caring organisations such as Health visitor, G.P., Midwife etc. Your care parcel will be collected by the referrer and arrangements will be made for you to collect it.

Free Cakes For Kids
Know a kid who needs a cake but you think may not get one because of cost? Look no more.
Please give at least 10 days notice if possible.
Free Cakes For Kids
Are a wonderful group of home bakers who don't want a kid to go without a birthday cake, and they are FREE to the child.
Please note: They cannot accept referrals from families directly. They will only accept from a charity, school, food bank, refuge, support worker, social worker etc.
The cake will then be baked by a volunteer and arrangements made with the organisation who does the referral to have it delivered.

Sheffield Parenting Hub
Sheffield City Council’s Parenting Specialists provide group based and one to one parenting support for parents and carers of children, from babies to teenagers.
We deliver programmes that are evidence based, and tried and tested. This means that the content is written by professional psychologists who have years of research into what works to manage behaviours and difficulties that we can all face as parents. These programmes are delivered across the world and have over 30 years of research behind them.
Everyone has busy lives and we are all different. There are different types of groups you can access depending on your needs and the time you have to spare. To find out what’s on and when in your area see our Sheffield Parenting What’s on Guide on the below website. Details will also be posted on our Sheffield Family Centres Facebook page. All our courses are available to parents who live in Sheffield only. Please contact your local authority early help team as they may offer something similar. Any bookings made by parents not in Sheffield will be cancelled .
